The opening of the new Ballybay fire station will be a 'red letter' day for the town according to a local councillor.
The new state of the art building is due to be completed at the end of this month, at a cost of €2.7 million.
It will contain new training facilities, have space for additional fire tenders, and is described as being an eco-friendly station.
It is due to be completed this month, with an expected opening towards the end of the year
The station will cater for areas such as Clones, Monaghan town, Castleblayney and Carrickmacross, as well as other parts in the West Ballybay direction.
