New Bank of Ireland branch opens in Monaghan Town

The move to a new property in Monaghan town is part of the Bank's nationwide branch improvement programme.

The new Bank of Ireland branch in Monaghan Town officially opened its doors today.

This follows its relocation from Church Square to a newly refurbished property nearby at The Diamond.

The new branch will provide customers with a larger, brighter, and more modern space to conduct all their banking needs, with improved wheelchair access.

The new branch also has an upgraded ATM fleet (one external, two internal), with greater cash processing capacity and cutting energy use by more than half. The ATMs can be used for both withdrawals and lodgements and will 'recycle' cash (i.e. cash deposited can be used for withdrawals).

To support visually impaired customers, the new devices will have high-contrast screens and the option of plugging into an earphone socket so the user can be guided through their transaction by voice assistance.

The move to a new property in Monaghan town is part of the Bank's nationwide branch improvement programme. Upgrade works on 24 branches across fourteen counties will be completed by the end of 2025, with the enhancements carried out as part of the Bank's €7million 2025 branch refurbishment investment in its 169-strong network.
