A local TD has today welcomed the allocation of new gardai in the Northern Sound region.
Today it was announced that one additional Garda will be allocated to Cavan Garda District, one to Bailieboro District and one to Carrickmacross District.
Deputy Brendan Smith is wishing all the new probationer Gardaí every success, good health and safety in their careers as they undertake important work on behalf of communities right throughout our country

It is an issue he recently raised with the Minister for Justice through Parliamentary Questions in the Dáil, the need for additional Gardai throughout Cavan and Monaghan.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Deputy Smith outlined the importance of the role gardaí play in our communities.
