Plans by Lidl to knock its Cavan Town supermarket outlet and replace it with a brand new store has been appealed by An Bord Pleanala.
Lidl has purposed to demolish its existing outlet which totals 1596sqm and replace it with a much bigger store at 2,560sqm.
Cavan County Council gave the German discount retailer the green light for the development, despite concerns from locals near the Ballinagh Rd site over how the larger store would affect their property's market value.

The appeal is due to be decided by August 2023.
