New report indicates slight ease in inflation rate

Prices were down by 3% in Cavan to €222,500 and by 2.5% in Monaghan to €195,000

The median asking price for a home now stands at 385 thousand euro as price inflation eases slightly.

My Home has released a new report which found the inflation rate in Dublin stands at 2.9 per cent and at 6.1 per cent in the rest of the country.

In the Ulster countries the experience was mixed.

Donegal prices were up 4% on the year to €252,500 but were down by 3% in Cavan to €222,500 and by 2.5% in Monaghan to €195,000

Experts believe the new rental rules will mean landlords will leave that market and free up the units for homebuyers.

Conall MacCoille authored the report and says while asking prices are balancing out, actual prices could be around 7 per cent higher:
