The Luí na Gréine play park, in Scotstown will be completed by January 2026.
Cllr Niamh McCooey confirmed the news following her written question on the status of the play park at this week's Monaghan MD meeting.
Cllr McCooey says the new play park his will be a fantastic addition and a wonderful space for children and families in the area.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr McCooey says this has been a community focused project from the very start.
Partly funded by Monaghan MD, the Sinn Fein representative thanked all those involved in bringing this project to fruition: "It's about getting the community involved in it. I think community voices are very powerful and especially ourselves as elected rep we listen to our constituents about what they want and what they'd like to see within their community. It's great to see this coming to fruition and this will be part of a wider project that is happening in Scotstown."
