The average nightly rate per contracted provider for IPAS accommodation is €67 in Co. Monaghan.
While in Co. Cavan, the cost is €59 - with both counties below the national average.
That's according to the Minister for Justice, Jim O'Callaghan.
Independent Ireland TD, Ken O'Flynn asked the Minister about figures in a parliamentary question this week.
The State is currently accommodating over 33,000 people in over 300 IPAS centres around the country.
According to the Minister, significant reform is underway to speed up the international protection application processing system and reduce the demand for accommodation.
The average contracted nightly rate across IPAS is €71, and this rate encompasses fluctuations in the number of residents over time.
