The Nuremore Hotel, on the old Ardee Roiad just outside Carrickmacross, ceased trading in 2023. It was established and developed by Julie Gilhooly and her family. When she retired from the business in 2020, the hotel was sold to The Kylin Prime Group as a going concern.
The hotel, which has over 70-bedrooms and is located on a 160-acre of parkland, will now be now returned to its former glory.
Local Councillor Peter Conlon says the confirmation is great news not just for Monaghan but for the North East.
For Health & Safety reasons, the resort will temporarily remain closed to the public during redevelopment. Once renovations are complete in late 2025, the gates will open wide once again to welcome the community back into revitalised local gem. Cllr Colm Carthy says that's a welcome development.
