Close to 5,000 people across the Northern Sound region have been availing of Jobseeker schemes.
The data for the month of July was recently revealed in a report compiled by the CSO.
The Central Statistics Office provided a break-down of the number of people on the Live Register during the month of July.
This comprises of people under 65 years of age who are claiming Jobseeker's Benefit, Allowance, or Pay Related Benefit.
The figures exclude systematic short-time workers, smallholders, farm assists and other self-employed individuals.
There were 2,786 people in Co. Cavan availing of the schemes during the month of July, while 2,183 were recorded in Co. Monaghan.
In total, just over 4,960 people were on Jobseekers last month.
This includes 569 young adults in the Northern Sound region under 25 years of age.
Nationally, there were 169,600 claimants last month, up 1,100 people from June 2025.
