Over 5,000 applications for the TAMS grant have been received by the Department of Agriculture from farmers in the Northern Sound region.
That’s according to figures released by the Minister for Agriculture, Martin Heydon this week.
The Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3) provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holdings

In Co. Cavan, 2975 grants have been submitted. Of those, 2306 have been approved.
Meanwhile in Co. Monaghan, 2096 grant applications have been submitted, with 1624 approved so far.
