Over 800 help-to-buy claims have been approved across Cavan and Monaghan since 2020.
The scheme assists first-time purchasers with the deposit they need to buy or build a new house or apartment.
The Minister of Finance has confirmed 810 claims have been approved in the Northern Sound region as of the 30th of June 2025.
This includes 553 claims for self-builds, and 257 for homes purchased.
However, auctioneer James Spring from REA Donohoe Spring in Ballyconnell says he's 'surprised' the number of purchased homes is so low:
