Ten-year planning permission is being sought for a solar energy development in Co. Cavan.
The project is being proposed by Colwell Brothers Limited and would consist of the erection of photovoltaic solar panels on Bocade Glebe, Killeshandra.
It would comprise of solar panels on mounting frames, electrical control building and MV power station, as well as underground electrical and communications cabling.
Included in the application is the development of access tracks, security fencing, pole-mounted security cameras, and all associated works.
The operational lifetime of the proposed development is 35 years.
An Appropriate Assessment Screening Report will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the application, and a decision is due by the start of July.
