Monaghan County Council has submitted plans to redevelop the old fire station site in Castleblayney.
The plans will see 22 modern homes located on the site in the town.
These homes will be designed with older residents and those with specific needs in mind.
The development will allow for shared spaces, landscaped areas, and on site parking.
Cllr Aidan Campbell said this project aims to build an inclusive and connected community.
He says is also will deliver much needed homes in the area for this cohort.
