A post mortem examination is set to take place later this morning on the body of a woman discovered dead in Cavan.
The woman aged in her 50s was found dead at an apartment in the town.
Gardaí were alerted to the scene on Connolly Street shortly after 2am yesterday morning.

An investigation is now underway, and the Coroner's been notified.
Gardaí say the results of the post-mortem exam which is taking place at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan this morning will assist Gardai in determining the course of their investigation.
