3000 homes and businesses were left without power in parts of Cavan this morning. The areas affected are Ballyjamesduff, Derrycramph and surrounding parts. ESB told Northern Sound the significant outage is down to "a fault on our network near a local supermarket that occurred this morning".
As of 12.15pm, there are approximately 120 customers without power - down from a peak of almost 3,000 customers earlier this morning, an ESB spokesperson said.
Local ESB Networks are continuing to carry out the necessary repair work we are told. ESB apologises to all of those impacted for the disruption caused and reminds local people they can follow the progress of repairs in real-time by visiting the PowerCheck.ie website.
