The preferred site for the proposed Carrickmacross Swimming Pool has been revealed.
The need and the desire for a leisure facility in the South Monaghan Town has been highlighted for decades. .
Cllr Colm Carthy along with other local representatives have been highlighting these calls for many years.

The site being further assessed as the preferred location is adjacent to the CTEK buildings at the junction of Riverside and Oriel roads in the town.
Cllr Carthy says it is the ideal location and is owned by the council and is close to a number of other services and amenities.
He says this has been a long running project and even though there is a lot more work to do, it's moving in the right the direction.
