A status yellow rain and snow warning will continue across Co Cavan today.
From midday today, Co Cavan along with Donegal, Longford and Connacht will be subject to a rain and snow alert, while Cork and Kerry will fall under a rain warning from the same time.
Met Eireann is warning of difficult travelling conditions today, with a number of status yellow weather alerts issued.
Met Eireann forecaster and Magheracloone man Gerry Murphy says heavy rainfall from the last few days could lead to dangerous conditions on the roads.
He has advised people to take great on the roads, with the possibility of sleet and snow in places:
Mr Murphy told Northern Sound, "Take great care on roads due to the frost and potential ice in places. As the rain moves across this afternoon and evening there is a possibility that it will turn to sleet or snow in places so people need to be very careful in relation to that as well."
