Recruitment opportunities are currently underway at Carrickmacross Fire Station.
Monaghan County Council are currently accepting applicants for the role of retained firefighters.
Monaghan's Chief Fire Officer, Dermot Brannigan says the number of retained firefighters has "increased significantly" across Co Monaghan over the last year.
He added that significant training has also been carried out to ensure that all fire fighters are trained to the highest of standards.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Mr Brannigan confirmed that the same efforts and prioritisation when it comes to recruitment and training will continue in 2026.
He described working in the fire service as "very rewarding."
