A retired Garda from Cavan says new speed limits won't fully tackle the carnage on Ireland's roads.
As of today, speed limits on rural roads have been reduced from 80kph to 60kph. It's all in an effort to try and reduce deaths on our roads. John Wilson is a retired Garda from Cavan. Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, John says that although many roads are not suitable to do 80kph anyway, Government's focus is in the wrong place.
He believes punishments for drink and drug driving are disproportionate and should be far harsher.
