The average rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Co. Monaghan was €1,150 in the third quarter of 2025.
That's according to the Daft Report for the period that was released this week.
Nationally, the average rent for a two-bedroom apartment was €2,080, in Q3 of 2025, a jump of 4.3% compared to the same time last year.
In Co. Monaghan, the average price to rent a double-room in a house was €1535, while nationwide the average was €788.
The Daft report also found that prices have risen most outside of the capital, with rent prices soaring by 9.3% in Cork and 11.4% in Waterford.
Author of report, Professor Ronan Lyons, says hybrid working has led to an increase in demand for housing outside of Dublin:
He said: "With the move to remote and hybrid working, places that hadn't seen much of an interest in rental demand during the 2010s' all of a sudden did.
"Indeed, some of the biggest increases in terms of percentage, actually happened in places like Sligo, Leitrim, and Donegal, which traditionally have not been strong rental markets" Professor Lyons added.
