Restoring Castlesaunderson in the medium term is unrealistic.
That's according to Local councillor John Paul Feeley who says that the cost associated with such a project would reach 10s of millions of euro.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound councillor Feeley said he's not sure what could be done with the Castle that would make economic sense:

He says that over the last year he has called for a management plan that would bring together the three landowners; the council, coillte, and scouting Ireland, and ensure everyone is working to improve and maintain what is already at the site:
