The RSA Check it Fits service is coming to Monaghan today, to give parents an opportunity to ensure their child's car seat is fitted correctly.
In its research the RSA found that 54% of child car seats are incorrectly fitted nationwide, 30% of these needed a major adjustment to fix them.
The RSA is warning that an incorrectly fitted car seat could lead to serious or fatal injury in the event of a collision.
The service will be available in Monaghan from 10am to 5.30pm today at Flemings Department Store, Church Square, Monaghan.
The service takes between 10-15 minutes, is free of charge and is a walk-in service, no appointment is needed.
Tomorrow, experts will be also available at Aldi in Cavan Town to fix problems and answer questions surrounding the fitting of a child’s car seat.
