Severe damage reported across Ballybay/Clones MD

Meanwhile, power outages and phone lines are down in the Smithboro, Threemilehouse and Ballybay areas of Co Monaghan. According to Sinn Fein's Sinead Flynn, many residents from these areas remain without power due to extensive damage caused by the storm and they have been advised that power may take some time to be restored. She told Northern Sound that there are a lot of fallen trees in these areas together with fallen/broken wires; "Ballybay/Clones MD are working around the clock to ensure roads are safe and passable. Driving conditions remain very difficult. Please exercise caution when out and about over the next number of days."
