Six people have been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Co Monaghan earlier this afternoon. Gardaí received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at on the N12 at Silverstream.
The collision occurred at approximately 1pm, and the occupants of both vehicles - a female and four children in one vehicle and a male in the other - were brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The road was closed for a time but has since reopened according to Gardaí.
