Snow forecasted for the region on Thursday

It is set to remain cold over the next few days with sub-zero temperatures at night.

Snow is forecasted for the region for Thursday and Friday according to Met Eireann.

Monaghan meteorologist Gerry Murphy says it's still too early to say how much snow could fall in the coming days.

The weather is set to remain cold over the next few days with sub-zero temperatures at night across Cavan and Monaghan. The Carrickmacross native said that night temperatures could drop back to -5 tonight and tomorrow night. The RTE presenter and forecaster says we can expect to see snow flurries from Thursday ahead of a turn towards milder weather from the weekend.
