Staffing levels in Monaghan Hospital have increased by 70% according to new figures.
It comes as unions representing healthcare workers are locked in talks with the HSE at the Workplace Relations Commission It's in an effort to avoid industrial action by 80,000 workers which is due to begin next week in a row over staffing levels. Figures from the HSE released today show levels of staffing in local hospitals have increased since 2019.
Monaghan Hospital has had the biggest increase in staffing levels nationally, with 172 whole time staff employed currently, up 70% since 2019.
Cavan General has also experienced an increase of 25% since 2019, with 1,291 whole time staff currently employed.
