Status yellow rain warning in place until 8pm this evening

A status yellow rain warning remains in place for the entire country until 8pm this evening.

It comes after heavy rain caused flooding in many parts of the country, especially in the southeast.

Met Eireann is warning of heavy or thundery spells of rain continuing for the rest of the day.
