The number of teachers working in schools across the Northern Sound Region has increased, up to 2024.
That's according to figures released by the Minister for Education, Hildegarde Naughton, last week.
In a parliamentary question last week, the minister said that that there were over 79,000 teachers employed nationwide in Irish schools.
43,000 were employed at primary level including special schools and 36,000 in post-primary schools.
In Co. Cavan, 1,047 teachers were employed in schools in 2024, an increase from 951 four years earlier.
Meanwhile in Monaghan, 818 teachers were employed in 2024, up from 764 in 2021.
