A local ice cream company has put Co Cavan on the map, with its mouth-watering homemade creations. Ice Cream Treats, based in Killeshandra has gone from strength to strength since its inception back in 2013.
At the helm of its success is local man, Gerry Sheridan and his team, who recently scooped up a number of awards at the prestigious British Frozen Foods Gala Ceremony in London.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Commercial and Trading Manager for the local company, Lisa Clarke said everyone was "delighted" with the recent wins. She added that the company is "focused" on building on from this success in the months and years ahead.
"We received a gold in the 'Best Dessert' Category' for our 'Moo'd Cookies and Cream' product and a silver award for our 'Whitbread Baileys' ice cream," explained Lisa. "Our 'Ice Beam Dairy Free' ice cream also took home gold, and we received a silver award in the 'Retail' category."
