The tender to construct a new €9.1 million Community Care Hub in Cavan has been published.
According to documents, the 1,569 square metre building will expand community based healthcare services.
Plans submitted to Cavan County Council by the HSE in May last year called for the construction of a two-storey Enhanced Community Care Hub. The development will comprise of 25 new clinical rooms and a gymnasium on ground floor level. Other facilities in the building include lobbies, reception, waiting rooms, education rooms, staff lounge, comms room, and toilets. 50 car parking spaces, 5 of those accessible, are also included in the application along with Solar panels and green roof at roof level.
The new care hub is set to be located across the road from Cavan General Hospital, which was recently granted permission for a major expansion of it's emergency department. Plans for the new hub were granted subject to 20 conditions and the tender for the construction of it has now been published. The HSE are seeking contractors to carry out the major build with an estimated value of €9.1 million. The contract has an expected start date of September this year, with the expected completion slated for Q1 of 2027.
