Garda patrols in County Cavan have resulted in a number of detections for speeding, no insurance, tax and nct.
In Shercock on Wednesday Cavan Roads Policing Unit conducting speed checks on the N3 picked up on a car without any valid paperwork. The day before, garda ANPR technology detected a BMW without tax and insurance. The car was seized and its driver charged to court.
Earlier on Tuesday, a van driver spotted using their mobile phone was pulled over. It transpired the offender was also driving without insurance, CVRT and tax. Gardaí in that case detained the van, issued a fixed charge penalty notice for using their mobile phone and charged the driver to court for the insurance and other offences.
