Two drivers caught speeding in Co. Monaghan were among the top offenders detected by Gardaí so far this Bank Holiday weekend.
One motorist was caught driving at 80km per hour in a 50 zone on the R183 in Dernaglug, Doohamlet.
While the other was seen speeding at 105km per hour in an 80 zone along the N2 in Carrigans, Emyvale.
Gardaí are conducting mandatory intoxicant testing and high visibility checkpoints this weekend.
The Bank Holiday Roads Policing Operation began on Thursday and will run until 7am on Tuesday.
Cork City Roads Policing Inspector Gillian Synott says she expects the high visibility of Gardai on the roads to be a deterrent to dangerous driving.
