Two Gardaí injured following incident at Bailieboro station

Two members of Bailieboro Gardai were injured during an incident at the local Garda station.

Gardaí responded to an incident in Bailieboro on Saturday 2nd 2026 at approximately 3:00pm.

Two uniformed frontline Gardaí intervened to prevent a female from causing serious self-harm.

In the course of the interaction both members sustained injuries and were medically assessed and remained on duty.

It’s understood the incident involved a threat of arson at the time of the incident.

Local Garda management has commended the members for the professionalism displayed and selfless swift courageous actions.

Support of the Employee Assistance service and all other welfare supports are being made available to the members.
