One person has been airlifted to hospital following a serious collision has occurred along the N87 between Bawnboy and Ballyconnell in Co Cavan this evening.
Northern Sound FM understands that two vehicles were involved in the collision that occurred just after the Killycrin Rd turnoff just outside the village of Bawnboy.

Emergency services remain are at the scene.

It’s understood that one person has been airlifted to hospital while another has been conveyed to hospital by the national ambulance service.
The road has been closed in both directions and diversions have been put in place.
