Luke O'Reilly has been acquitted

Three men have now been found guilty of the false imprisonment and assault causing serious harm to Kevin Lunney.

The verdict in the case of the four men charged with false imprisonment and causing serious harm to the QIH Director is being delivered in the Central Criminal Court today.

40 year old YZ, 40 year old Alan O'Brien of Shelmalier Road, East Wall, Dublin 3 and 27 year old Darren Redmond, Caledon Road, East Wall, Dublin 3 have been found guilty on both counts by the Special Criminal Court.

They along with 68 year old Luke O'Reilly Mullahoran Lower, Kilcogy, Co Cavan have all pleaded not guilty to the charges against the QIH Director at Drumbrade, Ballinagh, Co Cavan on September 17, 2019.

Mr Justice Tony Hunt said the YZ's connection to a number vehicles used during the incident was part of the reason for the decision.

He said YZ was heavily involved before, during and after the incident, and that the evidence points unequivocally to him being involved.
