A local senator has sought an update on funding for a temporary children's respite centre in Monaghan.
Robbie Gallagher recently raised the issue in the Seanad, following concerns that funding for Rainbow Lodge would end in September of this year.
The centre, in Urbalkirk, opened in October 2024 to act as a temporary respite centre pending the development of a new HSE development.
In response Senator Gallagher was informed by Minister Norma Foley that the recurring funding for Rainbow Lodge has been received for the centre until the new development is opened.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Senator Gallagher said that it's a relief for a number of people.
