Planning permission has been granted for upgrade works at a local water treatment plant.
Uisce Éireann applied to Monaghan County Council to upgrade the Clones water treatment plant in September last year. Works include the demolition of redundant structures, upgrades to the existing forward feeding pump station and new inlet works.
A new storm water holding tank with internal cleaning system, sludge blending tank, new kiosk enclosure, and sludge drying reed bed are all part of the application. County planners granted the application with three conditions attached.
