Weather advisory issued ahead of Storm Ciarán

Later Wednesday and on Thursday, Storm Ciaran is set to bring falls of heavy rain and strong winds.

Wet conditions and spot flooding is expected to continue today, with parts of Ireland still under a weather warning.

A Yellow Rainfall alert is in place for county Kerry, with the same band of rain moving across the country later.

It comes as Ireland prepares for more severe weather conditions with the arrival of Storm Ciarán tomorrow, which will bring more heavy rainfall and strong winds. Meteorologist with Met Éireann Gerry Murphy says the current rainfall is separate to Ciarán, which will hit the country from tomorrow night.
