Cavan and Monaghan are currently under a status yellow wind warning as Storm Amy makes landfall.
According to Met Eireann forecaster, Liz Walsh, there will be a "noticeable increase" in the strength of winds between 3pm and 6pm in Cavan and Monaghan.
The strongest of the winds will impact the West of both counties Cavan and Monaghan most.
The national forecaster described Storm Amy as a "gusty event" adding that the weather is "potentially dangerous on a localised scale."
