The work is only beginning for the special school in Castleblayney.
That's according to Local Minister of State, Niamh Smyth, who visited the school with Education Minister Hildegarde Naughton this week.
She outlined that the school has been "a long time coming" but that it is only the beginning of the journey.
Minister Smyth highlighted that parents have called for a bigger, permanent school.
Speaking to Northern Sound, she said that there is still "a lot of work to be done."
Meanwhile, Co. Monaghan Senator Robbie Gallagher explained the current plans in place for the school.
