Works due to commence next month on the Carrickmacross CCTV scheme.
The local authority said it's anticipated that enabling civil and electrical works will commence in March.
The camera system is expected to be operational by late Q2 of this year.
Cameras will be installed in 14 locations with 17 cameras around the town of Carrickmacross.
Local councillor Colm Carthy says these will be located in areas where Gardai believe will be best placed to deal with deterrence, prevention, detection and prosecution of offences.
Cllr Carthy says the cameras will be a very welcome development in the town.
