Works to commence on Castleblayney's Market House within weeks

Works are set to commence on the Market House in Castleblayney in the coming weeks.

Almost €11 million was announced in 2024 to redevelop the historic Market House in Castleblayney by the then Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys.

The project also includes public realm enhancements to create a pedestrian public gathering space.

After lying derelict for over 20 years these works will bring this iconic building in the heart of Castleblayney back to life once again.

Cllr Aidan Campbell said it's a great day for Castleblayney.

He said once works are completed this will be a gamechanger for the generations to come.

The local Fine Gael councillor hailed today's news a wonderful day for Castleblayney.
