It's 40 years since the Clones Cyclone took his famous victory at Loftus Road over Eusebio Pedroza, winning the WBA World Featherweight Title. The iconic fight is due to be celebrated on June 8th with a Gala dinner in the Hillgrove Hotel, where the full fight will be screened again. Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Barry remembered the special moment of his father singing "Danny Boy" before the fight.

He said the fight created a sense of unity on the island of Ireland, at a time where the Troubles were causing division, and this gave him huge energy.
