Young drivers across Cavan and Monaghan have been advised of three steps they can take to knock 40% off insurance premiums.
One of the three measures is passing their driving test, which is good news for local motorists as pass rates in Cavan and Monaghan are above the national average of 53%.
In Cavan, the pass rate is 67.9%, while the pass rate is 65.5% in Monaghan.
Experts at Coverinaclick.ie have reminded young motorists that completing their Essential Driver Training of 12 lessons and getting one or more year's named driver experience can cut premiums by up to €1,000.
Jonathan Hehir, Managing Director of Coverinaclick.ie says that while there is no guarantee applicants will pass their driving test first time - young drivers should move swiftly to start the process.
