Rooskey in Co Leitrim has been in the headlines recently because of two arson attacks at the Shannon Key West Hotel, which is earmarked for asylum-seekers.

Trinity College student Emmet King, who's from the village, has written a powerful article on the controversy, under the headline 'the racist attack that rendered a village mute'.

The 20-year-old is calling for the people of Rooskey to take control of the narrative once again - he feels it's time for them to stand together and speak with one voice.
