It appears the Cavan county board is moving in on a new senior team manager.
Following on from the closure of nominations from clubs, it would appear to be a contest between two former county players.
Finbar O'Reilly, who led Arva to an All-Ireland Junior club title in 2024 and Dermot McCabe; who managed Westmeath this year are the only two to have had their names in the hat.
Whereas, the county board have the discretion to look themselves for a manager. Indeed, the board have made no secret, they would like to prefer the manager to come from within the county.
The board and have been afforded that opportunity with that are nominated. It is understood that a meeting with both men will take place in the next week to 10 days.
