The countdown is on to a busy weekend of GAA action as the All Ireland series returns with round 2 fixtures. Saturday will see Donegal and Cork up first at 3pm in a sold out Ballybofey. The winner of that fixture will progress to the quarter finals while the looser will go into Round 3. At 4:30 Monaghan welcome Roscommon to St Tiernachs Park Clones. The Hosts who lost all 7 of their league games, have had a more positive championship campaign with wins over Cavan and Derry before loosing out to Armagh in the Ulster final after extra time and Mayo in round of the All Ireland series. In the last 3 games Gabriel Bannigan's side have seen themselves having to reduce large deficits that have conceded in the early stages of games. Former forward Conor Mc Manus noted that the team will know they can't always allow the oppostion get a run of scores on them
At 5:30 , Kildare host Kerry in Newbridge with Meath away to Derry at 7pm in Celtic Park. The Royal county will be without Ruairi Kinsella for that fixutre after he suffered an ACL injury. It's understood that the 2025 All-Star nominee suffered his injury in training over the weekend. Those fixtures will see the winners progress to Round 3 while the losers inter-county season will come to an end. The one other Round 2B fixture will throw in on Sunday as Dublin are the visitors to Kingspan Breffni to take on Cavan at 2pm. Also on Sunday in 2A, Louth and Armagh meet in a sold out Paric Gratten Inniskeen at 1pm. Galway and Westmeath go toe to toe at 2pm in Salthill and it is Tyrone against Mayo in O'Neills Healy Park at 3:30.
