Carlow beat Longford after extra-time

Carlow are the Allianz league division four champions after beating Longford.

Indeed, the South East side grabbed the title thanks to a 1-24 to 2-18 victory after extra-time

A Ronan Blakley red card after the throw-in for the second period of extra-time swung the pendulum in the encounter.

Elsewhere, Ailish Whitty has been elected as the next President of the Camogie Association.

The Galway native has served as the National Coaching and Games representative on Ard Chomhairle between 2017 and 2020.

Indeed, Whitty takes over the role from Brian Molloy having been elected unopposed. Whereas, Outgoing President Molloy has urged all sides to work together to deliver integration between the GAA, camogie and ladies football.
