Thomas Leonard got Cootehill off the mark inside the opening minute with a score. Nicky Kenny responded for East Cavan Gaels with a point of his own.
Dylan McKeever registered Cootehill next score before Nicky Kenny got three points in a row to level the game at six points apiece with 22 minutes played.
Mark Moffet and Thomas Leonard added two further points for Cootehill. Cootehill leading on a score line of 0-8 to 0-7.
Diarmuid Carney registered Cootehills first score of the second half before Nicky Kenny scored three points on the bounce, giving East Cavan Gaels a one point lead with 42 minutes played.

Connor Shalvey added a point with Cootehills final score of the contest as they were crowned Cavan senior hurling champions.
