Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan has dampened expectations of a half-full Croke Park at some stage this year.

GAA President John Horan has said that Croke Park could hold 21-thousand if current social distancing measures stay in place, or 42-thousand if it’s reduced to a metre.

But the Chief Medical Officer says it’s too soon to talk about attendances of such a scale.

Meanwhile, Longford Chairman Albert Cooney has called for the government to assist the G-A-A through the covid-19 crisis.

Cooney told Shannonside Northern Sound Sport that county boards and clubs across the country are set to record huge deficits at the end of the year as GAA income has ran to zero.

The Longford chairman has called on G-A-A members to lobby their local politicians.
